The Mighty Russian Warmachine?

TrT has been keeping an eye on a post at think defence, which has devolved into a bit of scrum.

The bone of contention appears to be murmansk, and the capture of.
Now, today, it seems clear, that such a feat is fantasy, but surely in the long term, it would be easy?

Russias military budget is only marginaly above ours, and in the circumstances envisioned, russia was commited to a major invasion of europe.

How can they possibly be expected to win in central europe and to keep back sufficient reserves to hold off us to the north?

given thier performance in the caucus.....

Christmas Retail is going to be an utter disaster

TheRagingTory is signed up for a lot of junk Email, its interesting to know what what business wants you to know, and sometimes, the truth slips out as well.

Next Day Delivery is still available, and will be until 2.30pm tomorrow.
I realise there were weather problems last year, but most places had given up "in time for christmas" a week ago.

The Fact Factor 2

Well, they're a lot less clear cut this year!
Last year here

Judges eliminations
There were eight judges eliminations weeks, one of which went to deadlock, when Craig Colton went home.
Leaving seven eliminations, in only one of those, did the judges send home the act with the fewest votesm Nu Vibe, in the first week. This series of events saved Frankie CokieCozer and led to Emilia getting back in the contest.

Using a rather dirty average of sum position / weeks in contest we get the following "winners" and their ratios.

Name Ranking Actual Difference
Janet Devlin 1.857142857 5 -3.142857143
Amelia Lily 2.6 3 -0.4
Little Mix 2.666666667 1 1.666666667
Marcus Collins 3.777777778 2 1.777777778
Misha B 4.875 4 0.875
Craig Colton 5.5 6 -0.5
Johnny Robinson 5.5 9 -3.5
The Risk 5.75 10 -4.25
Sophie Habibis 7 11 -4
Kitty Brucknell 7.8 7 0.8
Frankie Cocozza 8 8 0
Sami Brookes 9.5 12 -2.5
Nu Vibe 12 13 -1

The winner should of course have been Janet, who cannonball was so obviously chosen for, not quite as big a disaster as "The Prince of Egypt" was, but still, a bit obvious innit?

The risk are a stand out, but they just seemed to fall apart after the first couple of weeks, and went home on a low vote.
As does Sophie, who did at well at irst, and then fell apart, but then went home with a higher vote, but lower performance average than Misha.
And Johnny, his popular performance in week 3 edges him up quite a bit.

Littlemix redid "Dont let Go" by En Vogue, there best performance (and only real win), whereas Marcus did "Your Love", from week 7, which saw him one place above the elimination zone, rather than "Reet Petite" which saw him in second place, the best he ever did.

Well, thats it for this years Fact Factor, unless I can be bothered doing anything with average percentage vote, but I probably cant.

Have the Spanish ships that were seized been sank?
Have they been confiscated and sold at auction?
Are the crews in jail?
Did they even force the fish to be thrown overboard?

This is like a Russian Soviet Ship seizing an East German one.

Zero Hedge leaks that sky is blue :)

Not quite, but close, Credit Agricole was bank X

Odd rumours

TrT has heard rumblings about Lloyds, varying from an IT fault to they are about to collapse.

Surprising, well, not the IT fault, but I hadnt expected them to be the "European Bank in trouble"

James Blunt is not Warmaster of the Military Forces of the United Kingdom

If James Blunt qwent on TV and said Britian was prepared to risk world war three over something, you would ignore him.

Zhang is probably less credible as a source....
